THERAPY AGREEMENTS

1. Codes of Ethics and Practice

As your therapist, I adhere to the Codes of Ethics and Practice outlined by the British

Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Copies of these codes can be accessed on the official BACP website- www.bacp.com

2. Session Arrangements

• a. Session Frequency and Duration:

Therapy sessions are typically scheduled on a weekly or fortnightly basis, excluding prearrangedholidays and instances of illness. Each session is approximately 50 minutes in duration. The frequency and duration of sessions can be adjusted based on your preferences, whether for an open-ended duration or for a fixed number of sessions. I would provide advance notice of at least one month in the case of planned time off.

• b. Structure and Review Process:

After the initial assessment session, if it is mutually agreed that your concerns can be effectively addressed through the interventions provided, we will arrange further sessions. A review will be conducted after six sessions to ensure alignment with your therapeutic goals.

3. Technical Breakdown Procedures

In the event of technical difficulties during sessions, both parties will attempt to reconnect within 10 minutes. If unsuccessful, sessions will be rescheduled at no additional cost.

4. Termination of Therapy:

You reserve the right to terminate therapy at any time without incurring additional costs. Should your therapeutic needs/ managing risks extend beyond my competence and/or scope of practice in the private sector, I reserve the right to discontinue our arrangement. This decision will be discussed during sessions, and appropriate recommendations will be provided as per your needs.

5. Cancellation Policy

In the event of a missed or cancelled session with less than 48 hours notice, a fee equivalent to half of the session cost will be charged. If less than 24 hours notice, is provided, the full session fee will be applicable.

6. Payment

The initial assessment and therapy sessions are each priced at £90/ 1200 NOK. Payments are to be made via bank transfer prior to the scheduled appointment. Please note that the payments for the sessions should be completed within 24 hours of booking the appointment. Detailed bank account information for transfers will be provided on request*.*

7. Emergency Procedures

Online counselling is not sufficient support if you feel you are in crisis. Signs of crisis may be feelings or thought about suicide or harm yourself or another. In the event of a life-threatening emergency, contact emergency services at 999 or call 111, proceed to the nearest hospital A&E department, or reach out to crisis helplines such as the Samaritans at 116 123 (for UK Residents).

Non-UK Residents are advised to seek assistance from local emergency services or crisis helplines.

8. Professional Development

As part of my professional obligations, I engage in ongoing professional development and clinical supervision to ensure quality of care and ethical practice. Your confidentiality is strictly maintained during any discussions with my supervisor, conducted only with your prior consent.

9. Data Security and Confidentiality

Your information is handled with the utmost confidentiality and securely managed in compliance with ICO and GDPR regulations. For more information, please see the privacy policy attached. In adherence with the BACP ethical code, I am obliged to break confidentiality if you were to disclose involvement in or knowledge of an act of terrorism, money laundering and drugs trafficking. In addition, I have an agency policy to report instances of harm to self or to others and I do have a legal obligation to report harm or abuse to a minor or vulnerable adult.
